Update on "the boy who read Twilight"
Jul. 29th, 2008 04:04 pm*I am not a speaker in this. I asked "How's the book going?" and they took over.*
"I don't know why it's so long. It's just the first two chapters over and over and over again. I'm kind of curious about what happens, but it's just a lot of wasted pages."
"What happens is that Luke Perry left, and the show was never the same again."
"Why is it 90210?"
"Because I can't think of anything else, and at least Shannon Doherty was hot." (Actually, is it "Shannon" or "Shannen?")
Between this and the spoiler wank, I've been very entertained the last couple days.

Date: 2008-07-29 09:15 pm (UTC)And ugh, Twilight. I asked for all THREE books for Christmas because a lot of my anime friends online were sweating the series so hard. I don't think I made it past the 50th page. It was just so dumbed down and juvenile D:

Date: 2008-07-29 09:31 pm (UTC)It was people who had similar tastes to me in terms of anime and manga series. Similar good tastes. So, I took a chance on the series and it turned to be made of fail.

Date: 2008-07-29 09:34 pm (UTC)My friend is reading Twilight right now. She kind of likes it. She also has a higher (lower?) tolerance for... mainstream entertainment than I do.
I still refuse to read it, and I love the snark that appears on my flist. I'm thoroughly spoiled.

Date: 2008-07-29 10:42 pm (UTC)I did read the first volume of Eragon just to see if anything actually happened and made sense. I was sorely disappointed. My son just refused, absolutely refused. to even touch it. He loved the Percy Jackson books though.
