GUYS! How do Syaoran’s blood vessels not pop! All the blushing! *takes up schoolyard chanting* “He called her by her first na-ame! He called her by her first na-ame!” Uhm…uhm…how is it possible to have so much crushing of varying sexual orientations and age groups be so pure and innocent. Except the part where Rika/Terada is mutual…

Gotta love the excuses to have Sakura change into one of Tomoyo’s outfits for her final battle. I’d noticd she hadn’t worn them in a while. I love how they’re all “No no no…these crushes Syaoran and Sakura have on other people aren’t realcrushes, they’re just them being drawn by the magic!”

I really wish I knew if my figuring Yukito was Speshul and that that was why both Sakura and Syaoran liked him so much was because of clues, or just fandom osmosis.

I’m glad they made there be a reason the Big Bad Sooper Powerful Magician had a cute widdle pink wand. I was kind of wondering about that. Possibly, he also knew about Tomoyo.

Aaaannnddd…no more CCS for me until I get the rest of Cardcaptor Sakura: Master of the Clow. As of yesterday, I have Vols 1 and 6, but I’ll be saving Vol 1 until I get the rest.

I'm actually reading this volume right now.

How do Syaoran’s blood vessels not pop!
Because he's ~MAGIC~ ♥

Haha, gotta love Tomoyo and her costumes!

Tomoyo is my hero, I think.

Yours and mine. They should have renamed it "Cardcaptor Sakura's Best Friend Tomoyo"! XD

You know, surprisingly, Rika/Terada never squicked me, even though I was, like, 12 when I first read this. I wonder if it would if I read it now for the first time...

I seem naturally predisposed to like Clamp characters named Tomoyo. One of her cpies was the only really goodthing about on Tsubasa arc. (Well, it was good for Sakura, too, but surely they could have chosen a less tedious plot to finally let her be active in?)

I love Tomoyo too! Really, I don't know how anyone COULDN'T like her, unless they were homophobic or something...

Oh, you mean Nihon? Or Piffle?

Piffle. Well, her underlings were fun. But I view them as an extension of her. That arc was kinda sorta WAY TOO LONG.

I love everything in Nihon so far.

ETA: I've seen some criticism. I suspect, though, that it's mostly fearful CCS!Syaoran/Sakura fans and and Kurogane/Fai fans. Actually, I know the criticism I'cve seen for Princess Tomoyo is from that. (Which isn't to say that there isn't criticism on her not based on that, but what I've seen is.)

Piffle was cute and fluffy, but that's pretty much all it was good for. I agree. WAY TOO LONG. (But we got a Yamazaki cameo!Yay!)

So far? Are you not up to date? (I ask this so I won't spoil you)

I have read the "OMG WHAT? WHAT CLAMP? WHAT? *squee* ARE YOU SERIOUS? WHAT! *squee* OMG THAT MAY BE THE MOST EPIC SCREAMING ROMANTIC SHOUNEN ANGST EVER!!" arc that you are referring to, though I am 2-3 chapters behind in the current releases> I clarfied "so far" since, you know, we may go back...

THAT IT WAS!

And 189...I've never squealed before, but I did when reading that.
...Then I hit my head against the wall.

I almost overloaded at that.

And believe me, it has some serious competition in Vol 29 of Samurai Deeper Kyo.

CCS: Personally, I never thought "OMG get that stalker girl AWAY from my ship!!1" because 1) she's just too nice, and 2) Tomoyo was pretty much slated to have unrequited love for Sakura.

As for the KuroFay fans... They beat up on her too much. I mean, didn't Princess Tomoyo say something to the effect that Kurogane found the person to stay by his side? Why are they complaining?

Despite the clothing fetish, Tomoyo's love is pretty clearly pure and selfless, and devoid of expectations.

Kurogane's devotion to Tomoyo is equal to, if not greater than, the connection he has with Fai, and he's made it clear that he's never even considered not going back to her. And, of course, we all know that fandom is incapable of considering a connection important unless there's a romantic and/or sexual element to it. What I don't get is why they don't go with my dream scenario, which is that they BOTH go back to Nihon and a couple years around Tomoyo does the same thing for Fai that it did for Kurogane, and the angst is under control and he becomes a mostly functional human being and they all live happily ever after!

I think Kurogane is more devoted to Tomoyo than Fay (even just in a platonic sense), but if I were to bring that up, I'd be attacked. I agree with you, is there no such thing as platonic love in fandom anymore?

I don't know where I want everyone to be, worlds-wise. |D I was hoping they'd all stay in Clow Country or Nihon, but that was before the CCS connection was revealed...

Oh, I definitely think he's more devoted to Tomoyo than Fai. Doesn't mean I think he has romantic feelings for her. (If I did-or thought she did-I'd be all over that like you wouldn't believe.) Kurogane almost completely defines himself in the context of his service to her. I mean, do you really think he'd leave her boy choice, unless he knew it was what she wanted?

I think CLAMP sort of cheats with that Yukito thing. Especially in anime (e.g., in color), it seems like she is dreaming about Kaho. I had no clue whatsoever. But then again, I was also 12 lolz.

More CCS yay! Wait til you meet Eriol. ♥

I wish I had something less fangirly to say. Here we go: I always wondered about that wand thing when Syaoran showed up. I'm like, "What, he's going to use that little thing?"

Syaroan's Wand Option 1) Clow had no idea he would exist, and thus didn't make him a cute widdle boy wand.

Option 2) Clow thought it would help keep him in line. (Not that he really needs it...)

My only complaints is how speedily all this stuff happens. Certain scenes that were redone and given some true emotion in the anime are cut down to size and barely leave an impact. Syaoran manages to really have more personality in the anime, plus his seiyuu is fabulous and a perfect fit.

I like Tomoyo, too, but I think she's extremely sad. You know her feelings are doomed from the start, and she's so sincere. I don't feel like she's very Sonomi-like, who was possessive and jealous. She's supportive of Sakura completely, wants the best for her, and hopes she finds happiness. Still, I can imagine Tomoyo growing up and growing out of her childhood first love to some extent. I think in a way, too, a lot of us love our childhood best friend to the point that, as a child especially, we wonder if we couldn't marry them growing up, be in love with them, etc. Tomoyo's feelings, in my opinion, are just that sensation amplified. She never appears to be particularly close to anyone else. Both in the anime and the manga, Tomoyo has very few close connections with anyone. It's hard not to love the person who probably tells you, "We'll be friends forever" when they are your first and only friend that has LASTED.

Yeah, a lot of important stuff kind of happens at the speed of light here.

I think Tomoyo will be fine in the long run. By pretty much any definition of the word, she seems to be the healthiest and most adjusted member of the cast.
