 A)  Between the towing, the new tire, the diagnostics check, and repairing the wiring harness, the estimate is $355.  At least I can get the towing refunded by insurance.

B)  Will at least supposedly have a car again tomorrow.

C)  And have been told of other things likely to go wrong with the car in the next year or so.

Yeah for insurance. Ah, the infamous list of how your car might screw you over within the next year. I remember typing up many of those (including one for my own car) during my year as an office assistant at a mechanic shop. Good luck with all of that.

Yowza! I'm just converting that mentally into NZ dollars. Ouch. I feel your pain! What I love most about cars (I'm using the word sarcastically here, of course) is how they seem to time their breakdowns to the times when you're already about to fork out for eg tuition costs and dentists' appointments.
