Ok, Setsuna, when you say you love someone like a sister it doesn’t mean what it usually means! Shall I remind you of the first few volumes of this series?

KIRA AND KURAI BONDING OVER MUTUAL DOOMED AND UNREQUITED LOVE FOR SETSUNA!!! What? Sorry. Still distracted by wee!cute and Angsty Bloody Bishie bonding and hugging.

NOYZ! NOW DRESSING LIKE HER BROTHER TO GET REVENGE FOR HIS DEATH! CALL FREUD! I wonder if she’ll be in love with Kurai now…

Kira has interesting torture techniques. Or he just got tired of Setsuna being nice. And he is now wandering around in a black tenchcoat. I rather approve.

I feel proud of Sara for refusing to sleep with Raphael. And for trying to literally stab him in the back. And she chews Michael out!

Michael has no brain, but he accessorizes nicely.

And Belial/Hatter is Raphael’s ex? I guess that changes it from “anything nominally female” to “anything nominally attractive.” Does Hatter even have a gender? (If that is later confirmed one way or the other, I am not to be told which way.)

And the monster designates Kurai as its mother? WTF? Not-So-Secretly Approves.

OK! Kurai angst/trauma level for this volume:

1. Guy she likes (who is currently in the body of her hero) refers to her as both a sister and a daughter.
1. Belial is planning to sacrifice her to Lucifer, not make her the bride he promised.
3. Arachne, her sole living relative, is a traitor and the reason their family was wiped out. (WWWHHHHYYYYYYYY!!!!!)
4. Falls into a pit with a monster so scary people usually die just by looking at it!
5. Hunted by a creepy snake man.

Ok, not as bad as what some people go through semi-regularly, but that’s a lot for a teeny thing! On the upside, she did get to wear a pretty dress, and get to hug Kira…

AGAIN! ARACHNE! TRAITOR! NOYZ TAKING ON APPEARANCE OF DEAD TWIN AND SWEARING VENGEANCE! SARA BEATING UP ANGELS! SETSUNA STILL IN ALEXIEL’S BODY!

You find our Belial's gender situation, but I forget which volume.
I think you've passed it though, for some reason. It was before you find out about Belial and Raphael... I think.

Hmm...a couple volumes ago (check the tag, I think I mentioned it) Belial was teasing Kurai about it, but it was...oblique. No breasts (according to Kurai) but Belial was, at the time, wearing a tight split skirt (where we first see the butterfly tattoo) that made it clear to Kurai that Belial had no *cough* equipment. I'm going with hermaphrodite until told otherwse.

I should dislike Michael, i really should, but his combination of stupidity and energy makes it difficult.

Belial is more like his rapist, than an ex. Angels in AS are supposed to be pure and asexual, and s/he went against it... and then Raphael walked in on her/it/him/whatever and that other angel. Then he became a womanizer to use women like he was used, or some equally bizarre male/Raphael reasoning.

It's sad how much I remember of AS. :(

Yeah, that reasoning is really why I can't quite like him. Angst excuses for sleeping around to use people (esp. passing it off as "dealing with the angst because its a distraction") really don't go over well with me.
