I have become abnormally attached to Ellison and have deep, deep fears for him. I blame this on Supernatural, where I liked Hendrickson (or was it Henderson? So bad with similar and common names...) and thought he was ruthless because he thought he was trying to catch a pair of killers leaving a trail of bodies across the country before they could leave more bodies behind, but the show clearly thought that he was completely evil because he was after Sam and Dean. Ellison is the same kind of character, only written as all nice and sympathetic and wanting to get to the bottom of things. I fear for him! He is the kind of character shows like to randomly kill off at the end of a season!
Actually, after my last genre show and it's race and gender problems, SCC is like the best thing ever.
On to spoilers! (With a vague spoiler for something that should be revealed within the next few eps.)
Um...it has been a long day and my ability to process names is rather shot. You should see all the name errors I actually caught. Off to watch the extras on the first disc now.

John may be quite lacking in the evident survival skills one would expect, but he's very quotable.
I am amused that they are passing Cameron off as Sarah's daughter, because that's what they act like, with the mutual "But if you make a misstep, I will kill you!" undertone. Although, why is it that Cameron was able to act like a normal teenager in the pilot, but she can't now?
And I love the oh-so-very-subtle lingering on Cameron when John talked about machines building machines smarter than they are. Because it was so Subtle.
And I note that the same type of gun that was used to kill Enrique was used to kill the barcode unit. Either terminator's just prefer a certain type of gun (makes sense) or Cameron is keeping even more secrets than she obviously is.
The barcode unit being alive in the present makes me think we will soon see a little Kyle Reese in a Deeply Exploitive And Angst Ridden Scene at some point. Largely because I know the identity of Barcode In The Shrubs Guy. (And again, his identity is the only spoiler I know.)
When the other Terminator went to the scientist, did anyone else think that he was operating on a secondary programming (or that Cameron had lied about each unit having only one task) to guide the scientist towards a contribution to the creation of the Terminators?
I like the "Sarah's still not quite sane" hints, and her dream about scientists turning into Terminators was awesome. Her solution regarding Andy and Turk was a far cry from her "I know where he is so I will assassinate him" reaction to Dryson in T2. (Dryson? Dyson? Gaaah...long day. Went straight from church nursery to work.) On the one hand, it shows character growth. On the other, it leaves room to rebuild.
I'm still not sure about the time travel bit, but I do like how they're showing that even a few years is very jarring.
I continue to mysteriously like Carlos's girlfriend/lookout/whatever, despite the fact that she hasn't uttered a single line. I'm also happy with the route they're going with Dryson's wife. They're managing to portray has distrusting and pretty much hating Sarah (justifiably) but still portraying her very positively, even when she lies to her.
And finally, I hope that when/if Ellison and Sarah meet, there is Deep And Meaningful Staring. With the "I'll kill you if you misstep" on her part and the "crazy chick who rants about robots taking over the world" bit on his.
