So, within a few chapters, Eve:
1. Turns her prehensile hair into fists.
2. Turns into a mermaid.
3. Leaps into the air as a mermaid, and punches the bragging flying boy with her hair.
4. Makes a shield with her arm.
5. Grows wings.
6. Adds a fist to the ends of the wings to clock the boy again.
7. Turns her entire body into metal to take him down for good.
And so it is a good thing that Train and Thunderhead’s fights were early in the volume. They don’t exactly stand out as much.
Meanwhile, with all of Leon’s talk about weak girls and not getting beat by a girl and then having to leave the Apostles of the Stars because he promised Eve he would if she beat him, I’m thinking someone is going to run into Train, Sven, Rinslet or Jenos (though his main concern would be the sanctity of Rinslet’s manicure) in a dark alley for sniffing around the princess in a few years.
I’d almost feel for Kevin for being relegated to sitting on the sidelines saying “Eve!” a lot, but I figure that, like Raki in Claymore, he’s paying penance for all the times the girls have to do the same just for being girls.
I’m wondering how long the long rounds of shounen fighting will last though, as this usually isn’t that style of manga. Surely just Sven’s, now, and then move on a bit until the big showdown? There’s only 6 or so volumes left, I think.
