weekly update
Jul. 23rd, 2005 10:25 amLots of stuff in this week, but I haven't read much of it. Most of my free time was spent making a dent in the novels(which was undone by a stop at the used book store yesterday...certain people will be happy to know that I have finally tracked down a copy of Shogun...why wasn't I warned this thing was over 1000 pages?) and trying to conquer the forces of Super Mario 2 Adavanced(or whatever it's called)
Should get back on track this week, as the manga/DVD shelf has no space to add ANYTHING at the moment.

Watched This Week:
Buffy: Season 2: eps 1-5: I'll talk about this once I've watched more.
Read this week:
RG VEDA v1: Starts off stronger than most Clamp titles, lets just hope it doesn’t fizzle out or get lost like their titles tend to do. And…Ashura is a boy? I could have sworn that Ashura was a girl in the anime. Plus, he looks and acts more like a little girl than a little boy.
Sakura Taisen Vol 1: Been curious about this one for a while. There’s a bit of an assumptionthat you’ve seen the anime, but not enough to feel like you should already know what’s going on. Interesting book, very pretty, nice historical feel. I just hope it doesn’t get too into the mecha aspect.
Shojo Beat #2: Good issue, even if I still don’t see what the big deal is about “Nana” and think “Baby & Me” is in the wrong book. The others are all pretty good, though(as long as I ignore the historical problems with “Godchild.”)
Blade Of The Immortal #103: Nice issue. I’ve always been rather fond of Abayama, and it’s nice to see an active, older guy be regarded as a physical threat. Last two pages w/ Makie really weren’t very necessary, though.
Fables #39: Oooooo…hello Mowgli. Are you staying for a while? Please say yes. Nice catch up issue. Prince Charming and Beast seem to get along pretty well.
New Thunderbolts #10: Purple Man is the new nanites for TBolts. And Atlas seems have a real problem with blowing up…he needs to stop that. If Speed Demon isn’t careful, he’ll start sounding like he cares.
Rann Thanagar War #3: Oooo…pretty explosions art races and…yeah…big fight book. But a good one!
Villains United #3: Yes Catman, you will be a hero. I’m placing my bets for either Talia or Black Adam being Mockingbird. Though Damon(manager at Waldenbooks) thinks it’ll be Max Lord.
Wonder Woman #218:Coming soon: The Return of Hippolyta! Neutral about that, myself, but given Diana and Cassie’s exchange a few issues ago, Circe’s taunts and the Hippolyta/Ares connection and this issue, I think it’s a safe bet that Lyta really is Hippolyta, in some way.
