meganbmoore: (lucy loves this book)

I just realized that no one in this book particularly cares that Kagura is an Amanto who could rip their arms off with little effort. Somehow, I find that sweet.

So, how many times this volume did Gin refer to himself as a parent, or talk like one? I lost track. They even made him carry them home, and he called himself their mommy.

Re: Cherry Blossom Viewing: Kondo’s love for Otae is very determined. As is the Shinsengumi’s devotion to Kondo (I do love how, in the chapter before it, Hijikata gave the big speech about protecting the Amanto for Kondo, only to walk outside and see Okita having tied the amanto to a cross and lighting a fire under it…so sweet, in a special way). And Gin and Hijikata arguing over whose kid will beat up the other one’s kid is eternal win. (Did Okita and Kagura ever even talk?)

Speaking of Otae, I am amazed Shinpachi lived through suggesting she stay out of the fight because she might get hurt. Perhaps it’s because he’s her brother. Shinpachi’s devotion to Otsu is also very determined. But saner than Kondo’s. Likely because Shinpachi has been trained by Otae.

I am wondering what Katsura’s qualifications for good and bad Amanto are. I think he labels anything cute and harmless looking as being good. Hence, Kagura and Elizabeth.

I love how it is just universally assumed that those two will grow up and have world-destroying kids.

I can't help what I ship. >_>

Seriously though, I think we're all assuming it because they're awesome, and awesome procreating can only make MORE awesome. At least that's my reason.

(it also doesn't help in my case that they've got the "kid" status in their respective groupings and that WK taught me to ship counterparts >_>)

WK? But yeah, the "family" setups are practically shoved down our throats, and Gin and Hijikata acting like quarreling fathers during the fight doesn't help. Anyehere else, that convo would have been the prologue, and we would have then cut away to the present where the kids were BFF rivals who needed to get together, or the whole thing would be a romance with them meeting for the first time in years.

IT IS HOW FICTION HAS TRAINED US TO VIEW THOSE SCENES!

Weiss Kreuz. The members always split up to fight with their "counterparts" in Schwarz in the anime, and the fandom ran with it more often than not. You kinda... get used to it and start seeing it everywhere.

I had a horrible flashback (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Xcid5FVJAE) ("You will marry the strongest man and birth strong children!", more or less. AUUUUUUGH)
