So, when Claire "dies" and there's something keeping her that way (branch in the head, etc) she stays dead until that factor is removed and her body can heal.  When Peter gets thrown off the roof and gets a metal pipe through the heart, he pulls himself off the metal pipe and heals.  No "stays dead until obstacle is removed."

Plothole, bad writing, or does he just get the special, "improved," version of the power because he's Peter, and therefore, Special?.

Also, Tall, Cynical Boy ended up not taking halfthe week off after all, so I have the next two discs.

I don't remember if this is supposed to be clear at this point in the show, but I don't think it's a spoiler. I'll spoiler-code it anyway, just in case you're super-spoiler-averse:

It's the thing in the head in particular which prevents her from regenerating.

So it's the "thing in the brain" not "object preventing vital body part from functioning" that's the key.

(In show explnation would be nice...)

It's more a case of all the powers in the show being based around the brain ie one reason why Sylar's so after people's brains.

It's debatable whether it went straight through his heart or whether it punctured his lung--in which case he could feasibly still pull out the pole, though with excrutiating pain. *Does not remember exact position of pole through his body, since the heart isn't actually where most people think it is in the human body*

Hmm...I suppose it could be a lung, but I don't think so. (And no, not the normal place...closer to the right place towards the middle.)

Mmm, okay. So it went clean through him, right? I'm just thinking about the technicalities of the sternum and stuff *has to study skeleton/musculature and stuff for art, but we never seem to EVER go over the location of the heart =_=*

Yeah, straight through. (Though the metal itself wasn't straight.)

yeeesssh, I can sort of remember that image now. If I remember correctly, I can also remember thinking, "What the heck? I can tell that this is fake. Oh god, I think I can distinguish the exact apparatus of the prop. I hate it when I see through the illusion like this DDDDD8"
