ep 19:
So, Linderman is both a healer, and is in charge of The Organization? Given that every Petrelli over the age of twelve is a mutant, I'm guessing that Mama and/or Papa Petrelli are mutants, too. Also that Simone's father was one or involved with them. Though Simone's apparent lack of mutant powers seems odd in that case, as it's pretty clearly something you pass down at this point.
Bennet continues to be awesome on all levels (save his relationship with his wife-he and the show both seem to have forgotten that she's MIA after being impersonated by Candice) especially when he's understanding and using other people's powers better than they are. Anyone want to take bets on whether or not he had every holding cell in the building rigged so that it could be used to help with an escape? Just in case.
Mohinder had a smart moment when he packed up the guy who absorbs powers just by being around people and drove him far away from the guy who eats brains to get powers. And then he drives straight back to where he left the serial killer who eats brains and nailed him to the ceiling.
I pretty much liked the Petrelli family reunion, though it was pretty obvious that Claire would be the one who pulled the glass from Peter's head. Nice to have confirmation now that it's something in the brain that keeps him and Claire from healing immediately. Though, now that he knows Peter will survive, you can just see Nathan thinking about exactly what people he needs to get out of NYC pronto, and how he's going to keep them there.
And I'm guessing that Linderman wants Micah so he can have him fix the polls? I'd say ep 20 pretty much confirms that, really. I give Jessica many props for not turning him over. Would not want to be Candice when Jessica/Nikki catches up with her.
I want to say nice things about Isaac's death, but all i can think of is that Simone dies to give Isaac and Peter angst, and to show that Peter is the better man. Isaac gets to embrace his death and come to terms with it, but dies only after he paints how to beat Sylar, and gets it safely away.
ep 20:
FUTURE EPISODE! DAYS OF FUTURE PAST!
I concede, I like future storylines, as long as they aren't overdone.
Two main things for me:
1) Dead Ando results in angsty and bitter Hiro. While we actually kind of like angsty and bitter Hiro, we don't want our Hiro to grow up that way. Therefore, Ando must live forever. Also, future!Hiro's memories don't change with the past changing. I approve.
2) Candice and Technogirl aren't the same person. As Technogirl disappeared 2 seconds after reuniting Matt and Radioactive Man, I assumed that whole bit was one of Candice's illusions.
And Matt is in charge of Homeland Security? Well, Sylar wanting someone utterly inept in that position soes make sense, except that said inept person READS MINDS! Then again, maybe Matt knew? I...I mean, Matt and Mohinder aren't the brightest people in the world, but surely they would have noticed between the two of them? Especially at the end, where Sylar was using all the other powers. And what about The Haitian? I generally credit him for being smart! Though at least now we know the he can both wipe memories and suppress powers.
Did anyone else notice that the people future!Hiro took to Bennet are the ones whose powers Sylar had? It does make sense that Bennet turned mutants more likely to cause trouble over to keep the helpless safe, though.
And hey, Peter finally had cause to be emo! And a scar! future!angsty!emo!scarred!bitter!Peter is a vast improvement over the regular version! Though...err...Peter had as little chemistry with Nikki as he did with Simone. SHOW! Stop trying romantic relationships! I beg you! (Unless you're counting Hiro/Ando as romantic...)
And Mohinder! He finally did something useful! And was mostly-smart throughout the episode! And using good judgment! Maybe it's the beard?
I really wish we could have seen more of Peter and Hiro raiding the building all Matrix-style, and Peter vs Sylar. Alas, poor us, budget probably didn't allow it...
And finally, I think Claire is cuter as a brunette than as a blonde. But how did Sylar get to Claire's brain, when it was her power that kept him from getting to Peter's before?

Date: 2008-10-20 01:57 pm (UTC)I remember being vastly confused by Technogirl and Candice. I wondered if they picked similar-looking actresses to confuse the audience on purpose. I think it was just sloppy in the end. Technogirl was definitely a separate being, she had some webcomics about her adventures. Perhaps she was a neighbor of one casting agent, seeing as she did almost nothing and proved no real purpose (from what I recall). Missy Pyle (Ando's non-stripper girlfriend) had more lines than Hannah.
Sylar and Peter's brief fight was so awesome, I think I rewound their walking towards each other with fire coming out of their hands 20 times.
I couldn't have cared less about Simone, I just wanted her dead the whole time because she towered over Milo and he deserves someone better. I agree, he and Nikki had no chemistry whatsoever. But man he was hot.
