Uhm…did I completely erase the Birds moving from Metropolis to California from my brain, or did it happen in some D.C. Event?

118: I’ve always suspected that Gail Simone is the only on who could really make Black Alice interesting. This pretty much confirms it. This is why I don’t really want anyone else to write Savant. I think the “abducted supers forced to fight in gladiator ring” thing has long since been overdone. The inclusion of Granny Goodness had potential, but it wasn’t really utilized. And I have difficulty with the idea of her dying that easily. Misfit and Black Alice being related is really out of nowhere, and I can’t make myself interested in it. Though the book seems to keep being more and more focused on Misfit, who isn’t nearly interesting enough to carry it the way she’s meant to.

119: I find it really hard to buy that Babs wuld let herself be near-broke. Really hard. And did we really have a scene of Helena explaining to Zinda that she’d been violated, and that was a bad thing, so she could angst? I think that made my skin crawl more than the Killer Shark thing itself. And Bedard? Kate doesn’t pick fights to prove she’s hot stuff. Especially with her allies. Thank you.

120: Wait, Sin died? I’ve really missed a lot of things skipping DC’s events. And who’s Infinity? I thought that was Gypsy!

121: Why do I think Joker is here only to cash in on Dark Knight? I think I like Infinity, though we’re getting a bit crowded. I have no idea what I think of this silicon syndicate thing. I predict endless boredom in The School Adventures of Black Alice and Misfit.

122: I got nuttin’.

123: The Babs/Joker confrontation isn’t exactly what I wanted, but wasn’t bad, either. Infinity impersonating Oracle is interesting, though I have a little trouble with how easily Calculator is swallowing it.

Despite how far the title has fallen from Dixon and Simone’s runs, I’m sad it’s ending in a few months. There was always the hope that a writer more suited to it would take over, or that Bedard would finally settle in well. (When not dealing with Misfit or the mess with Zinda, there were signs that has run could be good in time.)

Bedard showed flashes of competence while writing BoP, but generally they've been light, fluffy and disposable issues. I did, however, like the relationship between Black Alice and Misfit - keeps both of them around, which is always fun for two characters who dislike each other. :)

Sin "died" in the Bedard-written Black Canary mini-series, which was the DC deck-clearer mini designed to set up the GA/BC marriage. And Infinity is a completely new character.

I've never really been thrilled with the inclusion of Misfit in general. She had barely become tolerable by the end on Simone's run, and Bedard seems to like making her the main focus a lot.

I thinkthe main reasomn Bedard's run is diappointing is because I had high hopes after his Crossgen days.
