This is a collection of short stories by Wann, all focusing on love. Most focused on romantic love, rather one-sided or unrequited, though there was also a cute story about a teenaged noblewoman who becomes the “mother” of a winged boy she finds.

The stories are pretty diverse, ranging a wizard blamed for a plague to the curse of a witch in the early Protestant era to a Casanova figure to whom women are invisible who loves a woman to whom he’s invisible. My personal favorite involves futuristic robot pseudo-lesbians. That description is more out there than the actual story. I’m not sure any two stories actually fell into the same category.

I enjoyed it, despite hints in a couple of stories that longer works may include melodrama tropes that don’t work well for me. I’m disappointed that the other two licensed books by the manhwaga-100% Perfect Girl and Can’t Lose You-sound guaranteed to irritate me.

And I’m sad that none of the stories seem to be for the gorgeous cover illustration.

I enjoy 100% Perfect Girl but you are guaranteed to loathe it. It starts out Goongish (only he is in love with her from the start and rather nice, so you might like the first volume) and then progresses into amnesia, mobsters, and hero almost forcing himself on heroine. I.e. I love the tropes but you's hate it to bits. The art is pretty though.

Can't Lose You: you might not hate the gender relations (as far as I know the hero is always the soul of respect to the heroine) but it's a manhwa that starts out normal and even cute and goes weird --- super weird. And not cute weird or amusing weird but downright unappealingly bizarre.

Yeah, 100% Perfect Girl sounded like it could be fun, and then I learned about the "you inspire lust in me so it's your own fault I tried to force you" bit.

Re: Weird: Have you seen the manga I've been reading lately?

I don't think it's 'you inspire lust' as much as 'I love you and you don't remember me so I'll make you' which is just as demented but different demented. I don't mind that sort of trope as long as the hero stops but a lot of people aren't as forgiving (even I won't go for Haou Airen type stuff but luckily I've never seen that outside of Mayu Shinjo).

Your manga sounds demented fun but CLY is just...odd. I think WANN longer stories (at least if Perfect Girl and CLY are anything to go by) tend to wander into a territory utterly different from initial set-up. I like the heroine and hero of CLY just fine (even if the hero is rather an icy-damaged-but-in-love-with-heroine-for-her-goodness cliche) but the story just goes ridiculous.

Hmm...I went looking around a few LJs that tend to get annoyed by the same things as me after finishing 9 Faces of Love yesterday, and they didn't get past the first volume, and it sounds like what you're talking about is later.

(You might like Angel Sanctuary if you can get past the main pairing being siblings, though I think that's typically a bigger hang up for me than for you, and...well...the circumstances are rather different. But if there's a romantic kink that exists, AS probably has it.)
