*gives Rightstuf's 12 Days sale a last glance through*

Anyone have opinions on these?

Aquarion
Aquarion Age
Blue Gender
Final Fantasy (series)
Moon Phase
Samurai Gun
Shingu
Tide Line Blue

Also, does Trinity Blood actually end, or just stop?

Moon Phase has the most annoying anime opening ever (youtube it if you haven't seen it), but I heard it's actually pretty good.

Final Fantasy I hear has nothing to do with any FF game except that it has Chocobos. xD

...are their prices normally this low or are they having a site wide sale? I think I found tons of stuff I want.

They tend to have most anime and manga from the bigger publishers at 25% off at all times. But they also have publisher-specific sales at 30-33% off. IIRC, last year, they followed up the 12 Days sales with a Spring Cleaning sale where everything in stock was an extra 25% off.

Trinity Blood the anime comes to a close, but its more of a close to certain storylines, then it is a definitive ending. Pretty much Big Event happens and then they leave it open for a second season or just to end it there.

Moon Phase is pretty funny (from what I remember of it). I never got to see the entire anime, I enjoyed it, but not enough to spend $20+ a pop on each DVD, but the first two episode or so I saw I remember thinking the poor main character is gonna have pedo insinuations with the way the girl is treating him (through no fault of his own really).

Trinity Blood anime ends similar to the novel except, you know, Esther is an actual strong female character and those three novels arcs (one of them was cut down, fearing the shoujo ai vibe with Shahrazad much? Surely. Must be the reason why they made Len, Astaroth's tovarash, MALE in the wtf anime version) and has no ridiculous Gonzo showdown.

Sunao, the author, had plans for further unfortunately he died. His notes about future events was published in a book known as Canon.

A continuation by the pen of a friend, known as Apocrypha, is on works but really- I consider that fanfiction.

ah see I have most of the English Translated novels on my shelf and Iw as waiting for the end of each particular arc before I read them (TokyoPop being notoriously BAD at keeping a reasonable release schedule in my mind) so I didn't know it deviated from the novel line so much.

not that i'm bothered by shoujo-ai innuendo (real or otherwise), but I was really watching the anime for the gun toting fun. I was rather irritated by the ridiculous showdown honestly. It just sort of started, continued and then...Hey look a tthis pretty totally unrelated event! grrr

ah! see I figured there was more to her then was let on in the anime, but even during the rewatch I did with my boyfriend I sat there going 'really? but...didn't you say...and didn't he...and wait I swear that didn't happen that way...' so around episode 12 I sort of just sat back and decided that I was only in this for the hot blasphemous priests...and Ion's awesome snarkiest (though its better in the Japanese, his English VA was rather whiny at times).

I wanted the hilarious shoujo-ai (http://i38.tinypic.com/l9thd.jpg) vibes (http://i43.tinypic.com/ftm3is.jpg) (thankfully, the Manga adaptation redeems the animated fail and gives me those pics and moar) =( But they cut down SHAHRA. She was the only Imperial I truly, truly liked. Aside of Süleyman who was canon raped too. I was never fond of the inbred >_> er I mean Fortuna household and Asta and any of the blind Seth-supporters. Shahra's ideas and personality were refreshing amidst the stuck-up, higher than thou Methuselah.

That's why Esther was <3

Also an Orden fan and I can't get over the wtf they in the Anime.

Err...is there any pedo-type stuff?

nono its just that the lead girl (who's name I forget, the vampy girl with purple hair) *looks* like such a little kid and the main guy is either in his last year of HS or just started College (I forget, this was waaay back during Otakon 2006 I saw it). She treats him like her slave so he's occasionally doing stuff for her that would otherwise be considered romantic (but is really her ordering him around).

I had a similiar reaction to when I saw Tenchi and Sasami for the first time (from Tenchi Muyo) 'cause she's technically a 10 year old on Earth and he's 16 years old, but she does all the housewifey stuff for him.

There's no pedo-involved is my long winded answer.

Errr, actually, she is actually sort of young (wiki says 14), and I'm pretty sure he's in his 20s (he's working as a photographer). And there is definitely some romance (but there's no actual, you know, sex or anything), and the manga does a rather extensive time skip but the anime sort of wrapped things up and didn't really get that far. There are also some younger arranged marriage fiancee characters (no, there's no sex there either).

I do like Moon Phase, though. It had a nice mix of comedy and drama. And it's about vampires.

XD I remember the photographer part, but yeah two episodes pretty much gave me the impression above. She really didn't look 14..ah well!

Final Fantasy is incredibly hit & miss, especially when we're talking about non-video game mediums (I still can't quite grasp how awful "Spirits Within" and "Advent Children" were).

I don't know anything about the manga (didn't even know there was one), but I would recommend passing on it unless it has stellar reviews.

Aquarion = it's basically a campy tribute of giant robot shows. I enjoyed it but if you don't have a background in giant robots, it's probably not for you. It's got wonderful music, though, and is really pretty.

Aquarian Age = I liked the music and the visuals, but it's based on a Magic-type collectible card game in Japan and the story doesn't make much sense. The movie is also unrelated and REALLY TERRIBLE. The manga has a storyline, at least.

Blue Gender = I think this is the show about giant alien bugs attacking the Earth and some human survivors fighting against them? I watched the dub way back in the day and I can't remember how it ended. It's gory, not super memorable . . . your basic action anime with bad animation.

Tide-Line Blue is fun but not that substantial.

I know it's not on your list, but I totally recommend Fantastic Children. (Yeah, the name is sort of along the lines of "Princess Tutu." XDD) OP (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDirlcazF6M) and ED (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqpZfz3EWLI&feature=related). It's really an excellent show and it needs more love. $19.99 is a steal!

I second. It was the second anime I saw and I wondered if I'd made a huge mistake. Someone was so smug about his burning capabilities and brought it over when he came to visit; it's repetitive and stupid.

Aquarion is incredibly, incredibly gay... it's even gay when they merge their mechas (and subsequently orgasm. No, seriously) with *girls*. It's also got canon lesbianism, which was pretty rad /dumb slang

Moon Phase is just bad. The opening might just as well be the best part of it, and that's a frightening thought.

Tide-Line Blue is the best title of that list, in my opinion. It certainly doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it's entertaining, has very nice music and a lot of humour despite the earth-shattering (so to speak) plot.
