meganbmoore: (2 of a kind)

So, I'm sitting here, reminding myself that, cold or no cold, I have to go to work today or I forfeit my holiday pay for yesterday. Then I remembered that there was a new Tsubasa chapter, even though I keep meaning to let the chapters build up again. (Also, aren't scanslators allowed to take Christmas off?

OMG WTF WHAT??? Did Cloney just kill real!Syaoran? WHAT?!?! Not to mention taking down Kurogane and Fai...

But you know, as much as I love Clamp, action scenes are not their strength.

Also, I got bored in the third episode of Torchwood (I also learned who was involved in another spoiler I knew of and EEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWW) and switched back to Saiyuki Reload: Gunlock, which I had just started when the old DVD player died.  I couldn't remember what episode it was, so, while finding my place, I think I listened to Dokugakuji talk about how all that's left of Kougaiji is a cold and heartless killing machine.

I am rather fond of that line.

And I have now seen Sanzo as a tree, and Goku barking like a dog.

And...err...you know, I'm very fond of Lirin, but when did she become a serious threat to Sanzo?  And when was she possessed by Serious and Patient?

(Spoiler code for direct spoilers, please.)

Clamp action scenes are always confusing. This one moreso than usual. It may have been deliberate.

I'm not quite sure if Cloney slashed at Junior's eyes or his neck...Either way, he can't be dead. That'd make all of this pointless. :|

More Tsubasa spoiling: On the flipside, though, we've been following Cloney since the beginning, and even though Juniors been the main character for the last 10~ volumes, he's still a relative newcomer. So ehile Syaoran and Sakura are the heart of things, I can't help but think Cloney and Clonerella might still be the endgame deciders.

Hmm, you might be onto something. And it's way too pointless to hope that the remaining Sakuras and Syaorans won't die, isn't it?

I think we can rely on one set surviving and beingtogether! The other set will likely die permanently and we'll see their spirits embracing or some such.

Aaaack, I was a sobbing mess when C|Sakura died. Now it'll be a repeated process for one of the Syaorans (likely Cloney). Fantastic.

I have no idea what is going on in Tsubasa, but I keep reading "Cloney" as Clooney and went "what the hell does George Clooney have to do with CLAMP?" for a minute or two.

It's give them their own names or spend eternity typing up *description/series*!*character name*

Oh, I can figure it out from context, it's just the really random mental image of George Clooney in the middle of a bunch of anorexic-looking CLAMP characters that made me chuckle for quite a bit. xD;

I agree with you on the action scenes. Clamp, pretty does not equal well-drawn! I had to look at several pages twice to figure out what was going on! As for Syaoran: There's no way he's really dead. I think that part when Cloney is whispering in his ear will be significant. Why would they put it in otherwise? Also, do you know what magician they were talking about with the eye? I cannot remember. Is it Clow?

I'm pretty sure the magician they were talking about was Fai and how his eye made Cloney so powerful. And yeah, Cloney apparently whispering in Syaoran's ear should end up really significant. I'm sure it was some sort of "WE MUST SAVE OUR SAKURA'S!!" moment.

I really should have remembered that. *headsmack* As for the whispering, I'm sure it was some sort of "You'll take the left and I'll take the right" deal. If it does end up like that, I would be one very happy fangirl to see both of them beating Fai Wong Reed up with Fai and Kurogane also joining in.

That does sound exceptionally lovely, doesn't it?

I lost my sh*t when I read this chapter. Good thing it was Christmas, so I could be distracted by the Doctor Who special.

OH OH OH. Is Sakura's soul not in the tube Yuuko has? And does not the opening page of Tsubasa feature a Shaoran soul in the other side?

There has to be some point to the stupid tube scene that begins the entire series, doesn't there?

There should be. Unless Clamp just forgot all about it.

Given that this chapter has come about after one of the recent "breaks for data gathering," I think we can guess they remembered and went "oh yeah, need to make that happen."

(I think there was whispering of "Now, who's the main protag, bitch." )

So... Torchwood, yeah? I gave up on the first series after 3 episodes, too. It did get "better" (relatively.) But the issue with that show is that it takes itself too seriously. As opposed to the new Who, which never forgets that it's a very silly fun show beneath all the spooky.

That may have been part of the problem with Torxhwood. If it had treated itself as silly, I might have done better with it. But it seemed to think it was pretty dark and edgy.

The second series was better comparatively.
