Oh, so this is where the “totally in bed with flowers” picture I’ve seen circulated a lot is from. Apparently it was the request of a fan who won some sort of contest. I both approve and disapprove. There is to be none of that in the actual manga until people are of age. Assuming people ever start communicating in the same language. The mini-manga surrounding the picture may actually be my favorite part of this volume.

Ok, is it just me, or is Kyoko kind of shrinking? I think Nakamura realized that most of the fanbase probably has a height difference fetish, and is catering. It also makes it easier for Sho to point at Ren over Kyoko’s head and blame Ren for threatening Kyoko’s reputation, and for the two to glare territory claiming at each other over her head.

It’s best for the world that she has no idea of all the territorialism going on around her, isn’t it?

And Ren wants to be left aaaallllooooonnnnneeeeeeeeeee to mope about Sho rescuing Kyoko! And grudge!Kyoko made a heart in the air while floating to Ren!

I adore the forest scene beyond words.

Kyoko: “Tralalala! I float in a world of fairies until I remember my past.” And then “Even if I go through here, Corn won’t be there.” And tttthhhheeeerrrrrreeeeeee he is. (Urm…she has got to figure that one out soon…)

And then Ren decided they had to get back to civilization fast, before he became a pervert. Nice to know he has some self-awareness left.

And I’m glad Kyoko doesn’t think she owes Sho anything. And I was happy to see her terrifying the twits who said they wouldn’t mind being stalked if it meant being rescued by Ren. Kyoko’s reactions and overreactions continue to be the best thing ever.

And Ren says he will only admit defeat to Kyoko! The ultimate shounen line!

And Ren wanting to use Kyoko’s lap as a pillow! And pretending to be asleep so she’d pet his hair! Ren, are we slipping on that “I will behave myself and not turn into a pervert” thing?

Hmmm….I’m saying “and” way too much.

Nakamura continues to insist on trying to make me like Sho. As if it’s not bad enough that I probably won’t mind if this ends up a full-blown triangle. I do admire him for his method of outsmarting Vie Ghoul.

I did think that Sho was pretty smart about the Vie Ghoul stuff. Also? Ren is totally losing the 'not a pervert' fight. Completely.

Sho was actually...cool...in that bit. I DON'T WANT TO LIKE SHO! I DON'T!!!!

Ren is putting up a very, very valiant fight, but he's failing miserably. I think all that's saving him right now is "But she's a teenager! And kinda-sort-maybe-not-really-but-the-industry's-equivalent my subordinate!"

(He is ddddoooooooooooooommmmmmmeeeeeeeddddddd!)

WAUGH! I managed to read it promptly this time! No more until March!

They usually do release things more quickly than they say they will. Even on Dec 27 you could get vol. 16 on amazon and not as a preorder.

Yeah geeze I think I need to pre-order volume 17 NOW. XD I wonder if I should even bother checkin' my bookstores. I prefer Borders but the one I went to when I was looking for 15 were kinda rude to me.

I love Skip Beat. Kyoko and Ren rock. And vol. 16 was by far my favourite yet.

It's starting to be almost solely catered to Kyoko/Ren.

Which does evoke a bit of bitterness in my Moko loving heart, I admit. I've been using Momose as a standin lately.

Well, I'm sure we've got a lot of time before Kyoko ends up with whichever guy she will which leaves plenty of time for her to still be oblivious and spend more time with Moko. :D I read ahead a little bit on one manga last spring but at that time it didn't go much further than volume 16 but I am pretty sure she appears again soon.

I loved the scene with him resting in her lap a lot. I thought it was cute! Though it's been a while since I've read so I don't remember some of the other things you mentioned here.
