Is it just me, or was this chapter a bit short?

So, this chapter was pretty much just an apology for making us think Helen and Deneve were going to die, wasn't it?

My favorite bits were:

Helen:  "I'm sorry, Miria-neesan!  We failed you!"

Deneve:  "For get that bit where I was cut to bits and you thought i was dead, what are you doing taking him on alone?  Oh, that?  I just went over the limit again, no biggee."

"How can I run and let you die?  I'll be bait!"  "No!  You run!"  I'm bait" "No me!"  "No me!"

It really is nice of Isley to just  give them their moment and hang back for a moment.  Is it just me, though, or is he less powerful than before?  Maybe that's why Raki can fight youkai now!

And...bondage zombies?    *sporfle*  I can hear the fanservice accusations already, but...I really don't think those are intended to be hot and sexy, unless that's just your thing.  I can't help but think, though, that the one who smelled Dietrich (honey, what's with the bangs?) looked familiar.  I wonder if they're the zombies of Claymores or Awakened Beings.  Not to mention who sent them.  Why do I think this will result in a huge battle between them and Isley while Helen and Deneve grab Dietrich and hightail it out of there?

This chapter did seem short!

And I feel like I recognized the bondage zombies! (And yeah, I'm not quite sure I get the hot and sexy accusation. I mean, is it fanservice when they're obviously ZOMBIES? )

It's the one sniffing Dietrich. The design is just so familiar. But man, imagine if the whole thing was just the organization wanting Awakened Beings they could zombify...

They're zombies and...not drawn attractively.

That zombie looks vaguely like Undine, now that I think about it.

I know. I realize we've been trained to see half-nekkid flesh and associate it with fan service. But dude. Their eyes and mouth are sewn shut. And apparently their armor is sewn onto them! They're not bouncing piles of boobflesh. They're lumbering things that sniff at you. What part of this is sexy? I just don't get it. The only people who'd find that sexy are the ero-guro crowd and I'm pretty sure that's not Claymore's target audience!

The fanservice accusation...I was re-skimming the few most recent volumes of BotI last night because the new one finally shipped (IN MY HANDS! WHEE! Ok, in the other room, actually, but...) and thinking how the Rin-being-whipped scene was probably accused of being fanservice by someone out there...

I'm pretty sure Claymore's audience includes the ero-guro crowd - I mean, I'm still waiting for the day when someone beats up someone else with their own severed arms... Although Claymore's target audience is too wide for the series to get very ero-guro.

But then, I don't have any problem with fanservice to begin with, so you won't hear me complaining about it whether it is or isn't! 8D

Ahaha, this chapter! The bondage zombies! The insane subtext! I love it!

Isley seemed way less powerful - that, or Helen and Deneve are far more powerful then they were before.

I really wish Claymore got updated more often :( It is certainly a favourite.

OMFG OTP. ♥ing forever.

Isley is def. less powerful than he was, something strange must be going on. But then, he was wandering around like a hobo so I guess that's a given. XD

I don't know if he is less powerful. I don't think so. They could fight Riful in the past. They couldn't win, but they could fight her (I mean, if you compare them with the #3 and 5 who could fight her and were rescued by Miria and co).

I think he looks.. like he lost it. XD He is emotionally disturbed or something.

And, yeah, those aren't fanservicey in the conventional term, but... their bodies? Secondary sexual characteristic for women, I tell you. Not sexy, but sure as hell sexualized. Or stereotyped (I mean, I won't forget those male-awakened and their forms :/).

Isley struck me as less powerful than Riful, here, while I've always thought he was the more powerful of the two in the past.

Oh yeah, definitely less... something than Riful. You see in a panel Helen sys something like 'I have the feeling that in any moment he will hit me and cut me in two.' But he never did. He was like... totally unfocused. Slow and just reacting to Helen's attacks. Well, that's my impression, emotional turmoil or something. XD

My first coherent reaction to this chapter was I SHIP IT HARDER THAN EVER NOW. HELEN AND DENEVE, WHY SO MARRIED? And the second coherent reaction was, Zombie-ladies are creepy. Are they zombies from the North? Are they youma? (Haha, wrong series.) And somehow, I don't think that it's going to be as easy as the zombies distracting Isley long enough for Helen and Deneve to do it grab Dietrich.

And then it degenerates into keyboard smashing like so: twjt;;of9uir0942rm.

Isley seems to be out of it enough for me to believe anything!

I was so happy to see Deneve alive...

and yeah the second I saw the Zombies I immediately wanted to see how many fans were talking about their bodies and completely ignoring the creepy look of them.

I thought it was rather short too but at least longer then Tsubasa. It took me a few seconds to remember what exactly had happened last chapter. I thought I had missed something when we were on the zombie ladies suddenly.

I wanna see the Zombie ladies fight. Or if they can fight. Or how hard it would be to kill them. And...if their primary goal wasn't to kill people, what do they do to the towns? Or did the one not kill Dietrich because it smelled something familiar?

From what Dietrich said, I gather that they're the ones who've been destroying the South. I think it didn't kill her because she was doing something to mask her presence.
