Did FWR seriously say that Cloney had a soul now? When they made a big deal before about his not having one? While I suspect this is a goof on either Clamp’s part or a mistranslation on the translator’s part, I choose to believe that it is proof that my theory that the sakura petal he grabbed just before that lovely bout of screaming gave him a piece of clone!Sakura’s soul that became his own is right.

It’s seems the “you take the left, I’ll take the right” theory wasn’t very far off with the Syaorans! Though I’m a bit sad that it was real!Syaoran that stabbed FWR, and not Cloney. *has Cloney bias*

And now both clones have been stabbed in the back while protecting real!Syaoran! Except that it was real!Syaoran who stabbed clone!Sakura when she was trying to stop the fight, BUT STILL!!!

But poor Kurogane and Fai got to do nothing except for look determined and concerned! Though Kurogane did get to go all “here, let me remind you about my metal arm!”

Still no Mokona. I maintain that it is safely tucked away and napping in the indestructible Mokona Pouch that Kurogane sooper sekritly keeps hidden under his cloak.

Well, it makes sense that Real!Syaoran did the stabbing, because Cloney was too busy with carrying R!Syaoran up the stairs and stuff to aim. And, FWR was more likely to be taken by surprise by Dead!Syaoran than by unstable Cloney, yeah?

Anyways, it was clearly all Cloney's plan, so the triumph still goes to Cloney, IMO.

What I want to know is: what is Cloney doing with all that magic???

Yes, it's still Cloney's thing, so I'm still happy!

Cloney's magic: Well, I think he had a bit originally, and then he also has half of Fai's. It's also possible that clone!Sakura gave him hers. But then, I've though since she turned into sakura petals that she did it on purpose to keep FWR from getting parts of her.

Or do you mean "what is he doing with it in terms of action," instead of "how'd he get it?"

Yeah, I meant "what is the intended purpose of all that magical output in the final 2-page spread"? I remember where he got it from. (Plus the form--all the swirly scripty stuff--indicates that it's Fai's stolen magic, enhanced by Cloney's off-page adventures in interdimensional pillaging.)

I just read it again, and I think I figured it out--he's peeling open the portal between Clow and FWR's hideout.

Cloney pillaging makes me sad. He was so lovable and cute, then he turned all soulless and evil! So tragic!

No! I'd have to look again, but I'm positive that real!Syaoran did it accidentally when she threw herself between them. And then she kinda fell off his sword and turned into sakura petals just as she was making it to Cloney's arms.

Well...since Cloney essentially became a mindless and soulless machine, i'm not sure how much actual redemption he needs, but I'm glad he's doing the right thing as he seems to have free will again.

I just read it and went 'uhh...wait what?' and had to re-read it to understand what I was seeing. It would be nice if CLAMP would show us how the two Syaoran's came up with this bit of strategy. Its not like they could have secret pow-wows or something...

and ha to Fei-Wong Reed. not so smart eh? He should have known that clone!Syaoran would be too unstable to show him true blind suffocating loyalty. Sakura comes first, at least I'm assuming that's why Cloney did this, to save a Sakura even if its not HIS Sakura.

I maintain that Cloney's Sakura will somehow returhn. And really, look at how he acted towards her when he went all soulless. I can see FWR not seeing it coming.

I think the when Cloney whispered in Syaoran's ear in 208, he said something like "play dead until I get you close enough for stabbing."

Well, Cloney not doing the stabbing made everything more amazing for me. He planned it ans just stood there looking directly at FWR while the other attacked. I don't know, I still find it amazingly cool. XD
