It all makes perfect sense now. Kougaiji, not always being that bright, spoke without thinking, and forgot that Yaone was in the room. He has since been recovering in the hospital after receiving his just deserts and learning a bit more about the psychology of "a woman who has come of age." Meanwhile, Dokugaku and Lirin have been kept quite busy making sure Yaone didn't do anything drastic out of guilt. There will, of course, be mutual apologies once Kougaiji is released from the hospital. Possibly even group hugs.  Assuming he doesn't get brainwashed again.

The whole "we've been training on the south lawn and Dokugaku and I went to the ends of the Earth to get Lirin a watermelon" thing is just a cover.

We're never going to see those four again, are we?

I hate to say this, but I think it depends. Mostly on how Minekura finishes up this current fight and what role Hazel ends up playing, as she tends to use Kou and Hazel as mirrors/contrasts to Sanzo. I'd be surprised if we didn't at least get a glimpse or two, though.

I'm pretty sure. But does Nii get defeated, or does he just retreat into the shadows and start another round? I'm assuming the latter but I really have no idea at this point-- she's defied my expectations and assumptions too many times for me to want to predict.

But if the resurrection's still in play, then Lirin's still in danger, and that means the Kou-tachi are a factor. IMO anyway.

Have you seen the latest round of translations? Hazel seems suspiciously familiar with the cliches of the most sudsy romantic girly doramas (and possessed of hysterical Sue-ish tendencies), and oh, Zakuro-sama! How can such dorkitude coexist in the same body as such a colossal ego? I can't decide if I want to point and laugh hysterically, or snuggle him away from the big, mean world because he is obviously incompetent to take care of himself... XD
