manga: Fairy Tail Vol 5

I liked the flashback to Gray’s childhood and his master, but don’t particularly care about his old friend, or whether he ends up a good guy or a bad guy, though sticking a sword through Gray’s gut hints at which he’ll be. But mostly, he bores me.

I liked Lucy’s fight with the woman who could control other celestial spirits, but I wish she’d one the fight herself, instead of her celestial spirit being too much for her opponent to handle and taking them both out. Also, I think she got lost during the attack on the castle, because she wasn’t with Gray, but didn’t seem to stay with Erza.

But I loved Erza showing up and not really caring at all about heroism or saving the people, just about the fact that the others disobeyed orders and tarnished Fairy Tail’s name.

I really missed all the hijinks back at the Fairy Tail base in this volume, though.

Oh indeed, and the icon from your post is from one of favoritest manga things ever. Because, I totally get stopping to read during a battle. Especially if it is a book you've been waiting forever for.
