Nov. 29th, 2017 07:44 pm Apparently someone at Disney actually paid attention to outrage over various casting decisions over the years, because Liu Yi Fei has been cast as the lead for the live action remake of Mulan.
I raise my eyebrows a bit at the article listing The Forbidden Kingdom as her cred for being in a martial arts movie given the rest of her repertoire, but I accept that it's what most people reading the article are the most likely to recognize her from.
(I hope the crossdressing will be better than in Chinese Paladin, but then, that can only be improved on...)
