LJ things I need to do soon:

*2007 Books year in review
*2007 Anime year in review done
*Princess Tutu linkblog post
*finish working on tags
*possibly a "ME ME ME!" post for the 20~ people there has been mutual friending with the last couple months

All categories in both lists don't include various things that will basically be read as soon as I can get them.

Also:  I now have Gundam Wing and would start it tonight, but I started Spring Waltz last night.  I suspect I'll get through that fairly quickly, though.

I also have both the Endless Waltz movie, and the OVA.  I shall depend on the GW people to tell me at what point I'm to watch them.

Does anyone know how to merge tags without going through and manually changing the tag on every single entry?  I have, combined, about a hundred entries left to go through and change from "manga 2" and "dorama 2" to just "manga" and "dorama," and even though I've already done about twice as much in tag changing already...I'd really love it if there were a way to spare myself those few hours...

SUCCESS!

The very vast majority of today was spent cleaning out my tags list.  While I doubt anybody cares(well, maybe [profile] calixa, but only because i've also been talking to her about it all day) basically:

*Redundant tags are gone: skip-beat/skip beat, fullmetal alchemist/full metal alchemist, cable/deadpool/ cable & deadpool, stargate/stargate sg-1, etc. are each just one tag.
*No more book titles.  Novels are just author and, when applicable, series.  Manga, of course, is still by series, though the few mangaka that had tags still do.
*Manga and anime with 2 names, i.e., kino no tabi/kino's journey, 12 kingdoms/juuni kokuki still have both tags as some people tend to only look for one or the other.
One the flipside, there is only "young warriors of the yang clan" for the Young Warriors series, because it's not really a good title for the series, and no one really knows it by that name, anyway.
*Tags like "real life' and "work" are gone.  "Work" because, even though I've never talked about anything remotely confidential, I do use LJ at work a lot.  "Real Life" will probably build up again, and the posts are still there, I just don't know that I want a new friend looking at a problem or RL event from a year ago(largely because I'm likely to have forgotten about it...)
*Things like "stalkery people" and "weirdos" are also gone(though again, not the posts) because they tend to be about things that remind me why it may not be wise to live alone in an apt. and get off work at midnight.

I might go back through and add author:/drama:/manga:/anime:/movie: etc. tags later, but it's too much work for now.

Sadly, just looking at my LJ page, you could probably never guess that close to 200 tags are gone now(a lot of typo tags with 0 post were still in my tag list...)

Remember my saying I needed to come up with a new banner for the new layout?  I came up with...20.  No, I really haven't done much else the last 24 hours.

And, naturally, I now cannot choose one.  Several probably aren't any more suited to the new layout than the old one is, though.  Most of these are pretty simple.

11 Samurai Deeper Kyo, 4 Basara, 5 Stardust

  • I have stared going back through and tagging all my book and movie posts for the years with 'books" and "movies" for maintenance purposes.  Done with March...only 5 months to go...
  • Catsitting again this weekend from tonight through Sunday.  Only thing I'm really taking to watch is the Last Exile anime, though I plan to unearth and watch their copy of Overboard while I'm there since I plan to watch Fantasy Couple next week, and it's based on Overboard.
  • I also watched the first two episodes of Last Exile before work.  Not sure what I think of it, yet.  On the one hand, it's very, very pretty, but I don't really have a good hold on the plot yet, and so far the main characters, Klaus and Lavi, don't really interest me.  Actually, Lavi's energy seems really out of place in the series.  So far the only character that's really jumped out at me(I only know Klaus and Lavi's names because they were both said 50-60 times...) is the dark haired ship captain, but I don't know yet if he's a good guy or a bad guy.
  • I also tried reading Terry Brooks's Genesis of Shanara: Armageddon this week but...uhm...he's tying Shanara into the Knight of the Word world, and I disliked the fir book of that when I tried reading it a while back.  And, sadly, it wasn't very good the first 30 or so pages.  Of course, since Shanara was my first fantasy series, and what got me reading fantasy (particularly Heritage, which remain one of my favorite fantasy series and Wren is one of my favorite heroines ever) I'm kinda stuck and will eventually have to read it as I'm sure I'll be expected to know it in future books...but why oh why couldn't it have been even half as good as grianne's series?  Now that's a good series...

Up to April of 2004...ah, when CrossGen was around, I was just discovering manga, and I thought FightBolts was the worst thing Marvel could ever possibly do...

But mostly there's lists, memes and whining about school...

Not much was tagged.

how many entries using one tag will show up if someone clicks on it?  I've been told it'll only show a certain number of entries, as opposed to all of them.

Asking because I've only been using tags consistently for 6-7 months, if that long, and need to go bacjk to the beginning and tag things.
