So, the live action wuxia version of Inu Yasha is out and the first few episodes have been fansubbed. (This thing will probably never be licensed...) It looks kinda...silly-ish, but fun.

Trailer:

(While it's committing the sin of typecasting, I so hope TAE [yes, his namereally is all caps...] plays the Miroku character, though I'm not sure from that.)

Anyway, I won't be watching it until after I finish Paladins in Troubled Times and probably Strange Hero Yi Zhi Mei, but it looks fun.

I haven't followed Inu Yasha in ages, but have a fondness for it as it was one of the first manga series I read.

But then there's this bit of d-wiki's description:

Jealous of her sister's popularity with the human they protect and the love she receives from the king, Mo Yin, the human form of Goddess Tengshe, colluded with the Demon Lord Shi You Ming to kill her sister Xian Yue.

So, let's review.

In Inu Yasha Kikyo (Xian Yue) has a younger sister who heroworships her and becomes a powerful priestess herself, and the villain is a criminal who can't handle the fact that Kikyo is umpteen billion times better than him and, like, doesn't want to be his girlfriend or whatever, and he combines with dozens of evil demons who hate her because she keeps them from killing people, and they form a superdemon.

In Holy Pearl, Xian Yue's sister is a villainess who kills her out of jealousy. Over a man.
