Of Swords and Parasols

I finally got around to watching Guardians of the Galaxy and mostly enjoyed it (The bits I disliked, I'd been warned about. And wow, the context for the "whore" comment makes it much worse than I'd expected.) As has been noted, it's very Farscape-ish, and mostly in good ways, though with Chris Pratt playing Starlord, it was really hard to to picture chunks of it as what happens when Andy Dwyer eats three bags of sugar and then spends 72 hours watching Farscape nonstop. I look forward to the inevitable sequel more than I do most MCU stuff. (And that interview or whatever with Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner calling Natssha a whore and laughing it up is one of several things lately that make me glad I'm not really invested in most of MCU.) Also, I spent way, way too much of my teen years reading 80s and 90s Marvel to not go "Where are the Nova Centurions? Where are the Shi'ar?" every 5 minutes.

I need to be sure to commit "I will not succumb to your pelvic sorcery" to memory.
