brief note on Twin Peaks 2.6
Aug. 25th, 2009 01:09 amWell, the end of that episode had one of the most seriously creepy scenes I have ever seen. I think I'm going to have nightmares over that one.

and so I whinge...
Aug. 24th, 2009 10:10 pm1. I woke up this morning and all the writeups I drafted over the weekend (a review for There It Is, Plain As Daylight, various books and manga and the third season of House of Eliott) were GONE. WOES! And, you know, retyping them (which shall be done, as I am obsessive that way) detracts from reading time!
2. I spent three hours on Saturday with a very sick baby (like, he was miserably crying the whole time and this is a kid who never cries unless he wants a specific thing, and he stops as soon as you take care of whatever he wants, any crying for more than a minute is out of character for him) and I seem to have caught a bit of whatever he had. I can tell it's that and not bad allergies primarily because I've been really hungry today and yesterday, and I haven't been hungry-as in really really craving food-much since starting my ADD medication in January. (I should clarify that I'm not eating way less, just hungry less.)
3. I've been watching Twin Peaks lately (first time through, almost to the point where I'm told it's best to stop, or at least pretend the rest is a totally different show) and I have many thuoghts on it, both independently and as related to Veronica Mars, which you can tell is heavily influenced by it even if you aren't told so, but this one clip from it (ep 2.2) has been practically giving me nightmares the last couple weeks. (The bit that makes it incredibly creepy-seeing the reactions of the character he's headed for-is cut out, so it's only about 1/3 as creepy as the full thing.)
