A few brief points:
Sir Min may be the best boyfriend in kdramas. And most patient. He even seems to actually like Jang Geum’s foster parents! (Actually, I’m not sure she thinks of them as her foster parents so much as those odd relatives that annoy you but you can’t help but adore them, but that she doesn’t mind them calling her their daughter.)
Speaking of the foster parents, I’ve been wondering what happened to their kid, since he disappeared in the time jump between when Jang Geum was a kid and when she grew, so I’m glad they finally resolved it, but I can’t help but think it was unnecessarily mean to have them lose another kid that many years later.
So happy we’re finally to the royal physician part! Though it means less cooking, and I miss the gratuitous food pr0n. I sigh at how Jang Geum is still the most amazingly good person at anything she does, but at least it seems to be pure stubbornness as much as natural talent.
Also, I kind of adore the woman who was teaching her on Jeju.
The only downside to the considerable plot progression here is that we missed almost all of the changes in the positions of the court ladies. I was robbed of Lady Choi’s coup! Though I love the “Noes! Shock!” reactions when Jang Geum keeps running into people.
