Also, while I do hate the wuxia trope (actually, far from just wuxia) of the completely self-sufficient girl suddenly needing to be rescued (though in this series, it's more that they aren't tougher than an army than something that lasts the entire second half of the series...) I do like it when people who completely hate each other's guts and have been trying to kill each other since the first moment they met work together to save someone they both love. (Particularly when they aren't romantic rivals for the person they're off to rescue.)
