empty update while food cooks
Oct. 3rd, 2008 11:36 am1. Youtube vids set to "I Won't Say I'm In Love" from Hercules should only ever use the original audio from the movie. Other versions lack the spirit and attitude.
2. How is it possible to have a "multi-fandom canon RP"? This is a serious question, as both RP and multi-fandom seem to, by default, mean that canon no longer applies. (Barring series where alternate realities and dimensions are canon, of course.)
3. Whilst going through possible travel reading material for tomorrow, I noticed that volume 2 of The Cain Saga has a naked winged teenaged boy hatching from an egg on the cover. I am afraid that there is simply no way a cover with a naked winged teenaged boy hatching from an egg is ever going to be in the same car as my parents and grandmother.
4. I deleted about 80 unneeded and/or duplicate tags yesterday. You can't even tell from the sidebar.
5. I have placed my rightstuf order and was realitively good. I think. I just have to resist the lure of "But I could also order..." over the next week and a half.
6. I have started the kdrama Vineyard Man, which is enjoyable, but seems a little too fond of "character humiliation means humor." But it may get better on that front. Also, I forgot that, while Yoon Eun Hye is cute and likable, she seems to suffer Rainie Yang's curse of being at the hands of people who think it must automatically be taken to the cutesy level, resulting in a manufactured feeling. Not as bad as in Goong or Rainie Yang's roles, but enough to make me want them to take it back a few notches. I anticipate the day these actresses are no longer forced to sacrifice dignity in the cute of cuteness.
ETA: Self, what's with the tofu and ramen lunches lately?

Oct. 3rd, 2008 05:19 pmEven the basic setup of this one is fairly spoilery, so it all goes under the spoiler cut.
( spoilers )
All in all, I enjoyed the first book of the trilogy the most, but liked all three.

Oct. 3rd, 2008 06:08 pmCoworker: *holding out bag of chips* Want one?
Me: *cautiously peers in bag, notes contents look slightly red, but too dark to tell* Is it spicy?
Coworker: Just a little bit.
Me: Ok, thanks. *gets one, notes the extremely red seasoning*
Coworker: They're good, try it.
Me: *takes bite*
*fifteen seconds later*
Me: *glug glug glug*
Other people's "a little spicy" results in my mouth being on fire. Must remember that.

Oct. 3rd, 2008 08:32 pmSo, Sienna Miller has apparently been cast as Maid Marion in Ridley Scott's movie about the Sheriff of Nottingham, which boasts Russell Crowe as the star.
I've only ever seen her in Casanova and Stardust* and liked her in both, though I've head negative things about her from elsewhere. Not sure how much has to do with her acting, and how much has to do with her personal life, though.
As I have 2 icons of Lucilla and one each of Lily and Sibylla, I obviously have a nice track record with Ridley Scott's female leads. (The male ones, too.)
Don't think Robin has been cast yet, though.
*Random bit of weirdness: I rewatched both last week and didn't notice until then that she and Charlie Cox play siblings in Casanova, and she plays the girl he originally has a crush on in Stardust. Watching them almost back to back was interesting in terms of playing with your own head. To add to the fun, I watched St. Ives in between, and then started Pushing Daisies, both of which star Anna Friel.

"Tell them how it is that you are my mummy."
Context is mildly concerning. And why do I always get dialogue when I do this thing?
