Pretty Little Liars 5.1
Jun. 12th, 2014 01:46 pm You might be thinking that it's been quiet here this week because I've been obsessively playing flight Rising. This is partly true, but actually, I haven't been home much thanks to my church's Vacation Bible School. Thanks to this great storm we had last night with quarter sized hail, 80mph winds and literal walls of dust, however, I woke up this morning to 2 flat tires. YAY! So no work today thanks too that.
It did, however, mean I finally got to watch the PLL premiere, though I'll probably go back to watching it in huge chunks after this, but I wanted to see what it did with one thing.
Look, show, you only had to do ONE THING to make me forgive you for almost anything else you did. ONE THING, and that was kill Ezra. But no, he'll live (not that I actually expected otherwise, I just hoped) and we have Allison pretty much shipping Aria/Ezra. SIGH.
So, if i understand this correctly, Shana came to Rosewood mid-season 3 and was Team Allison, fell for Jenna and became Team We Hate Allison and was trying to kill people in multiples by the end of the season? Riiiiight. (Did they forget the part where A-or someone-knocked her out and drove her to the town limits last season to scare her off? Because I haven't.)
Personally, I think the writers realized that had an evil, mental ill WOC and a dead bisexual WOC, and decided they need to combine them or something. There are things you really, really don't need to try to outdo yourself on, show. That was one of them.
(I liked Shana. I don't know how popular she is, but I liked her.)
Oh, and the white woman who we're told has a pretty legitimate beef with Allison (getting kicked out of college because of her) is redeemed at the same time they're randomly making Allison's WOC friend evil out of nowhere. Can't forget that part.
And I like CeCe too (and, like Noel, I was wondering if that was the part where they kissed) and am totally good with her and Allison still being friends, but that's not the point.
Back to Ezra...maybe he can stay in a come for a few eps? Also, the scene where Emily, Hanna and Spencer were contemplating an A-less life while Aria was separated from them for Ezra-related things basically sums up a lot of Aria's plot in the series.
I think I'm amused by the fact that Mona is actually creating a brand new We Hate Allison club (because there aren't enough of those already?) with Melissa as coofounder. (Lucas needs to shave, though. I'm not sure what he's going for, but that just isn't the look for him.)
And nothing on Melissa's secret, or what happened with Mrs D, both of which were high on my list of things to see addressed.
I mean, there were things I liked about the episode, it's just that the annoying things were....really, really annoying.
