I'm reading The Princess Diarist, Carrie Fisher's book about the making of A New Hope. It's my first of her books and it's as funny as expected, but there's one passage that really made me uncomfortable.
(And I'm pretty sure it wasn't talked about more because it's in the chapter where Carrie confirms that she and Harrison Ford had an affair throughout the filming of the movie, which eclipsed all else for the world.)
Carrie, who was 19 at the time, was out with a bunch of male crew members who were determined to get her drunk. She finally agreed to a drink she knew she could handle but was given a different drink instead. At some point she realized the crew members were hatching a plot to "abduct" her to prove ownership or some such. She doesn't seem to think anything bad was going to happen but I got nauseous reading it.
And then 33-years-old and very married Harrison Ford comes along and is appropriately "WTF NO" about it and extracts her and takes her home (after a side trip with Mark Hamill and some other people) and...(considerably less appropriately because she's still drunk and barely legal regardless of how very interested she was when sober) sleeps with her himself...
And I'm sitting there staring at my phone going "...!!!...!!!" and not in a particularly good way over the whole thing.
