Just because I'm away from  my hard drive with hundreds and hundreds of pics stored on it does NOT mean anyone gets to escape.  As long as the obsession is at the forefront, you must all suffer.

This is just a list with a few pics for each of my favorite fantasy movies(and yes, I just reused some pics).  The only order is alphabetical.

1. Dragonheart

2.  Labyrinth

3.  Ladyhawke

4.  Legend

5.  Mirrormask

6.  Princess Bride

7.  Stardust(as it's a new movie, it's status is actually tentative, but...)

8.  Willow

Would be favorites but the paranormal elements are more commonly associated with horror than fantasy(though only one really falls into anything likethe horror category):

9.  The Mummy/The Mummy Returns

10.  Pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy

11.  Snow White: A Tale of Terror

You know, I am absolutely sure I saw Ladyhawke when it came out, because we used to see all those movies: we were all on our first jobs and had few responsibilities and lots of spare time. But I don't recall it at all!

Another few fantasy movies from about that period that I remember kindly, although they weren't as romantic as the ones you have listed, are The Dark Crystal, Time Bandits and The Adventures of Baron Munchausen. (And of course, Monty Python and the Holy Grail ... although that's sort of in its own category ... .)

Ladyhawke is excellent...more a medieval fable than normal fantasy.

And...well...you know me and anything that resembles the possibility of canon shipping as long as I like both characters...so many of these fantasy movies were made for me in a way...Though in my defense, both Mirrormask and Dragonheart more hint at a romance than they actually have a romance(actually, the romance in the original script of Dragonheart was more prominent but they reduced it in the movie...as I have the book which is based on the script, though, I'm fine...and I was fine before I had the book, too)

I like Dark Crystal, though more for the visuals than anything else, I'm positive I've seen Time Bandits, but a don't recall much about it. I haven't seen Baron Munchausen but would like to...Holy Grail is...well, as you said it's its own, special, unique category...

awesome pix

thanks for posting. i found your journal thru looking at common interests here at lj. i know nothing about anime (and don't really want to learn --my son is obsessed!), but your fantasy tags brought up some really cool entries.

and, oh yeah, i like your writing.

best,
susannah

Thanks.

Anime is scary when you aren't into it but addictive when you are(though I almost always prefer the manga)
