I actually just read your icon explanation post and was wondering about Trick. What's it about?

Trick is about a physicist who investigates supernatural phenomena and is book-brilliant, but also extremely gullible. So he decides to hire an assistant, with the requirement being that they can convince him magic exists. A perpetually-out-of-work stage magician tricks him with a few sleights of hand and becomes his assistant. She's not much of a magician, and isn't very book smart, but is extremely good at seeing through cons, and figuring out how they're pulled off.

As I mentioned in the post, it's essentially an extended, bizarre courtship between two people who actually can't quite stand each other, but could never stand anyone else. (In the second season or so, it takes on an air that he and her mother have the wedding planned and the first 2 kids named, they're just waiting for her to figure it out.) It pretty much lives to overturn every trope and cliche it can.

Ah, Trick, how I love thee (and it's all thanks to you pimping it, Megan!). How awesome that you're rewatching it :-). Ueda and Yamada would definitely have to go into my top five j-drama characters too; I just love their whole dynamic. Hmm, who else for me? Maybe Shuji/Nobuta/Akira from Nobuta Wo Produce? Because you can't really separate those three...

I'm not rewatching it myself yet, just cali, though I've been thinking out it for a little while. When thinking about favorite drama characters, I somehow feel I should "choose" between Yamada and Yankumi. Which is silly. But I think it's because they're Nakama Yukie's two best known roles, and i think i should only have one of her roles there. Ditto with Ha Ji Won and Chae-Ohk and Hwang Jin-Yi.
