Via [livejournal.com profile] calixa , 28 Reasons That Twilight The Movie Is Better Than Twilight The Book.

The excerpt used for #21?  A piece of my self-respect shriveled up and died just reading that.

That actually almost makes the movie sound awesome. Especially that bit with "food... sex... sex... cat..." I laughed. And they cut some of the worst offending lines?

Why do we get lion/lamb but not dazzle you? ;_;

I'd be the one thinking "cat."

Wait..."Do I dazzle you?" is actually a legitimate line from the book? I...I thought it was a fandom thing...

The whooshing sound the vampires make may be just enough reason to go see this movie.

WHOOSH!

Never, ever.

Because... there's a hitherto unsuspected incandescent chest kink among the world's teenage girls?

I have no idea either.

It is wish fulfillment fantasy at its finest. It satisfies a kink that a lot of young girls have. Finding an incredibly handsome and beautiful guy who is head over heels for them and tortures himself over it.

I think the books are trash, but I can see how it would have the appeal to a lot of people.

I have a theory that people are drawn to bad fiction because it's easier to warp it into what they want, but the more solid the source is, the more they have to work at it.

I've seriously got to see this movie now.

And possibly by lynched by crazy teenage girls while I laugh hysterically, but them's the risks.

I think this movie cries out for a 'bad movie night' treatment once it comes to DVD. Preferably with lots of alcohol and a roomful of LJ snarkers.

I think the movie is most likely bad, yet I still think it will be more enjoyable then the books.

My biggest fear is that the movie is simply mediocre and has no entertaining value whatsoever.

Well, by this point, we know Pattinson thinks it's garbage, and I'm pretty sure Stewart does too. So maybe their "Oh God Oh God someone please save me from this!" performances will be good.

What is this? It's like he's posing with a cardboard display at an Outdoor World shop or something. I have seen some craptastic stills from the film, but this is amazing! Hahaha!

(I have read 3 of the books and even though they suck I can't stop please don't shun me)

I think a lot of the images are photoshopped due to lack of fitting stills from the movie that eloquently illustrate the point of humor :)

(I've read two of the books and have the third, and think they are awful, but they are trainwreck awful. I can't stop reading, even know I know they are awful.)

Not that this in any way makes me want to watch the movie (I read the books, is that not enough?!) but the actor they cast as Laurent is smoking hot.

let's see...

reasons 20-22 are what made me most afraid when I heard this movie was happening.

reason 18 I just can't wait to see (my boyfriend might actually be able to identify with poor Edward...)

reason 15 is just gonna be awesome.

reason 12 is just awesome.

reason 7 I can see so many different ways this would be too funny. 'When Rabid Fans Attack'

Reason 4 would more awesome if I wasn't sick of the word 'gaysian'. It seems rather demeaning to two seperate groups of people. i mean do you see any special words for gay hispanics? or gay white people? gay black people?

reason 1 cracks me up since RPattz wanted to play him as darkly flawed as possible.
I agree with the first commenter however--Angel and Spike, at their best, are cooler then these guys

My husband and I went to the new Bond film tonight, and he was terrified by the humongous line of vapid, shrieking teengirls waiting to get into one of the showings of Twilight when we got out. At least he didn't have to go to the bathroom with them the way I did. *shudder*

The other vampires - Laurent, Victoria, and James - don't just appear out of nowhere on page 375 because Stephenie Meyer belatedly realized something needed to happen.

Oh, heavens, that's just the funniest line ever.

And you're right, that excerpt is totally crazy and wrong and I'm laughing so hard at it that I fear that just picking up the book and reading the synopsis will send me into a laughter coma.

My male coworker who was asked to read it by a friend who wanted to know if guys liked it said that he liked it when they showed up to try to kill her, then hastily mentioned that it wasn't because he wanted her dead, but because it meant something was happening.

Twilight means never having to say you're kidding. Really. Where else do vampires actually sparkle? The only reason I know about these books, really is Cleolinda's recaps. It basically distills the books into the most crackalicious hilarious form possible.
