Just a bit of babble before heading for bed.

You know, a month or two from now, I may not remember much about this one beyond it being amazingly pretty, having lots of angst and my loving Sorata/Arashi, and it's Clamp, so I'm not only braced for it to go FUBAR(though, can anything ever be as FUBAR as the second half of Revolutionary Girl Utena?) but I rather expect it, but I'm having a blast watching it, and that's really all that matters.

And I went longer than I planned to, but oh well.

*resolves that one day, she will talk about Sorata without comparing him to Benitora*

*goes to bed because she has to go feed her brother's dog in the morning and that thing is so huge it could kill her in one pounce if she goes by too late*

LJ seems to be going through one of it's phases where it doesn't send out email notifications to comments and replies.  Been checking recent posts and friend's posts I remember leaving a comment at and I THINK I got everything, but if I didn't, I'm not ignoring you, I promise.

Anyway, the manga backlog is building up again, and I think I have almost as much that either came out last week that I don't have yet *glares at Borders and wills the manga to be in this week's shipment* or is coming out(about to look as I go).

So, hoping to motivate myself, in no real order except how I gathered the scattered books up asndthe order they ended up in the pile in....

Hrm...this also reminds me that I need to do a general reading update soon.  *emails list to self in case she wants to do it there*

*giggles* The angst has arrived, , and it's arrived the way I expected it to.  It's not silly, but there's ssssooooooooo much of it and I saw it coming from the start.

note: part of the reason for the brevity of a lot of that is that I'm TERRIBLE with names and don't feel like going "girl with glasses" or "other guy" "best friend" etc...which is why I usually do these posts at home so I can refer to the books, unless A) there's a good, easily navigatable guide for me to refer to or B) I've read enough of a series or it made enough of an impact for it to stand out for me above the rest.  Also, without the books, if it's any kind of series, events in past books tend to start blurring "what happened in which" for me.

Lately(as in 1 volume a couple months ago and 2 more this week) I've been reading Chika Shiomi's manga, Night of the Beasts(vols 1-2...didn't know 2 was out until I saw 3 on a release list and am currently waiting for 3 to come in) and Canon(1 volume, just came out)  The best way to describe the books is shojo horror.

First of all, these series are a little odd, even for me.  They both have OTPs from hell(you think Kikyo/Inu Yasha/Kagome has issues?  That's nothing compared to Aria/Sakura, and Canon/Sakaki are on a par) which, oddly, is a lot of the appeal, and seriously kickass heroines who are polar opposites of each other and manage to avoid Mary Sue-ish "I'm so badass" vibes.  And very unconventional heroes.

*goes off to eat something then actually do some reading today, instead of yet another post talking about reading*
