1.  Someone remind me why Sherlock had evidence taped up all over the bathroom in ep 9 of Elementary.  I was looking at caps of the episode the other days and for the life of me, I cannot remember why he did that.

2.  I have discovered the existence of a romance novel called The Roman's Virgin Mistress.  The description actually describes the 1st century Roman as a playboy.  I am not making this up.  I am considering attempting to read it, but i don't know if my ability to force myself to deliberately read what appears to be awful fiction (and for all I know, it's a great book with terrible presentation by the publisher) just to point at the awfulness.

3.  Apparently both Caleb and Jason's actors are leaving Pretty Little Liars for other shows.  NOES THEY ARE THE ONLY MAJOR MALE CHARACTERS ON THE SHOW WHO I ACTUALLY LIKE.  (Though I'm only about 1/3 through season 3, it could change.)  Take Toby and Lucas and Garrett instead.

4.    I'm almost definitely using airmiles to stay until Wednesday at Wiscon, and so still in the market for roommates for the extra day if anyone else is staying longer.  (Also, any locals want to recommend things for me to do downtown Tuesday afternoon and Monday morning?)

5.  I've started watching Community and am almost through with the first season and enjoy it (though I like pretty much everyone but Pierce more than I like Jeff.  I kind of wish there were no Pierce.) even though it gives me secondhand embarrassment at times, and the "we know this is faily but you know that we know and don't think you should approve so it's ok" doesn't  work for me a lot of the time.

2) Ha! Sounds more like a Harlequin Presents than a Harlequin Historical. I don't read Harlequin Presents novels, but I do enjoy their The Roman Billionaire Cowboy Sheik's Pregnant Secret Virgin Mistress titles.

Now I feel compelled to order it from Paperbackswap.com because I have more credits than sense. I hope you're happy!

I LOVE THEIR TITLES.

My favorite thing about the historicals is that they sort the genres for me.

(Thankfully, my library had it, so my money is safe.)

1. Same data, different location for cognitive stimulation, iirc. I also seem to recall Joan snarking at him about wanting to shower, regardless of his progress or lack thereof on the case. :)

I figured it was something like that. (I spend about 1/4 of every episode going "Sherlock...what...are you doing? I DO NOT UNDERSTAND YOUR BRAIN!"

4. I do still need a roommate for Monday night! Mondays are actually a little hard to find things to do since it's a holiday, but I like the botanic garden, which is a ways away but fairly busable. (I'm trying to get someone to give me airmiles, because plane tickets are SO expensive this year.) I think the art museum may be open too; certainly it is on Tuesday, and it's small but good.

5. Even Chevy Chase wishes there were no Pierce! He is so awful. Jeff sucks too, and apparently people find him charming but dislike Britta? I have avoided fandom for the show because if it's that wrong-headed I have no interest. (Well, also I have minimal fandom involvement in general apart from Wiscon.) But Troy and Abed are LOVE, and some of the individual episodes are the most brilliant TV I've ever seen.

Yay! And yeah, airmiles are why I'm staying as long as I am. Even the extra days for the hotel room are way cheaper.

I can buy that Jeff charms people within the canon, but don't find him charming at all. The episode where Pierce is finally rightly booted from the group and then is let back in because apparently he treats Shirley so awful because he respects her enraged me so much. (Actually, I may have just started that one when I made this post.) And yeah, I knew about hate for Britta before I even knew what the show was about. (I WISH I were wise enough to avoid fandom.)

You are on the same train I was on! If it helps any, the show does stop leaning quite as heavily on Jeff being The White Main Dude That's Totally Not All About Me. I actually enjoy him quite a bit now! But yes. There's a reason one of my interest tags is "jeff and pierce get no vaginas evar!" The show really does some interesting stuff with meta and pop culture, plus the way the whole group evolves is a wonderful thing to behold. You're in for a treat :)

By around midseason, I didn't mind Jeff. I just liked him less than everyone else in the studygroup except Pierce. So far I'm enjoying the popculture stuff. (The paintball ep was amazing.)
