Came home to a note on the door that my lease has expired, need to sign a new one, new rate, etc.

EXCEPT!

The new rental rate is $75 less than my current one.  After the initial "OMG YES PLEASE!" reaction, I had to wonder:

1.  This does not mention my all bills paid.  Is that already included?  Or was it cleverly left out to give me false hope?
2.  Or what if it was a typo and my rent is actually going up $25?

AND I CANNOT FIND OUT UNTIL TOMORROW MORNING!

1.  As expected, the lowered rent was an error.  It is, in fact, going up $10.  (Which isn't so bad.)  The previous (messed up) management (This is the one who left eviction notices at everyone's door because they didn't have payment records, because she figured it was the best way to make sure everyone came to the office.  This is also the one whose mother-I think-is the one who would randomly come up and stroke my hair when I went to the office.) had me mislisted as beiing in an efficiency apartment.  Of course, I was never charge effieciency apartment rates.

2.  Has anyone read or heard anything about Havemercy by Jaida Jones and Danielle Bennett?

3. [personal profile] telophasehas been reading R.A. Salvatore's Forgotten Realms books.  Probably not for those who are big fans of the line, but great fun (especially if you used to like them and outgrew them) and pretty analytical.  Here, here and here.  Lots of dicussion in the comments about fantasy worlds and societies, and be sure to click the links in the posts.

ETA:  Woman arrested for not returning 2 books to the library for over a year.  Uhm...wow?  Wait, I just heard a cheer.  *looks at the librarians and the people who get most of their books from the library*  But you know, this is why I don't get books from the library much.  I wantwantwant a book, and then may not be in the mood for it for about 6 months once I get it.

Go to my userpics and then pick:

1. Your favorite.
2. Your least favorite.
3. One that makes you automatically think of me.
4. One that you think I should TOTALLY use more often.
5. One that you don't get/needs more explanation/you have no idea why the hell I have it.

Entertain me?

So ends this round of Angel Sanctuary posts, due to a lack of Vol 12.

Fictional character (mostly manga so far) are being subjected to The Universal Mary Sue Litmus Test and tallied up at

[personal profile] telophase's LJ here.

I took it for 11 Samurai Deeper Kyo characters.  Only Yuya, Mahiro and Okuni escape "kill it dead" territory.  Actually, of all characters tested so far, Kyo is the Sue-est of them all at 138, and Okuni the least-Sue of all at 8.

Go take it for your favorite/least favorite characters!

ETA:  Someone tested Miaka 4 times ranging from very strict to very lenient, and came out with a median score of 179.  I say this without comment and only because a few might find it interesting.
